I am a proud alumnus of Conway High School in South Carolina, where I
first learned the value of respect, discipline and organization in all facets of
life. Guided by these principles, I pursued higher education at South
Carolina State University in Orangeburg, earning a bachelor’s degree in
history with a minor in Political Science. During my time at SCSU, I had
membership in the Social Science Forum and the privilege of performing
as a trumpet player in the legendary and incomparable Garnet and Blue
Marching 101 Band. Also, I made a lifelong commitment to the Omega Psi
Phi Fraternity, Inc., embracing its foundational motto: “Friendship Is
Essential To The Soul.”
My early career in education, social services, and public housing
deepened my commitment to community advocacy. Inspired to expand my
impact, I returned to SCSU as a full-time graduate student and graduate
assistant, earning a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree.
Dedicated to expanding college access for others, I entered higher
education administration at Coastal Carolina University. Over the next two
decades, my career took me to the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill, and eventually to executive leadership roles as Director of Admissions
and Dean of Enrollment Management at prominent institutions across
Georgia, North Carolina, and Maryland. Throughout my tenure, I
successfully spearheaded strategic initiatives that drove historic
enrollment growth.
